I seem to recall a group of women I went to college with listening to Depeche Mode, which would be 1976-1979-- is that possible? Really mellow, bong type music?
Nope. probably not. Post 1982. 90% electronic EuroPop. Very New Wave. Think Erasure or New Republic, but smarter.
